Opening salvo of our Epic Pike & Shotte project. The 28 February – 03 March 1638 Battle of Rheinfelden saw a French-allied mercenary army take on a combined force of Bavarians and Holy Roman Empire troops over the course of two separate battles.
The events of Rheinfelden are partially depicted in the little known, hard to find, but much beloved by some (still looking for them), classic film “The Last Valley” starring Sir Michael Caine.
IMPORTANT NOTE: You must have at least SOME Epic Pike & Shotte painted miniatures. The project participants do not have enough miniatures to cover additional players.
That said, you don’t need a ton, just enough to field something in the cause for your particular faction. Contact the organizers for details if you’re interested in joining the project! (Note, the only difference between Warlord’s ECW and TYW boxes are the flags you get (sprues are identical), so recommend getting whichever is cheaper – flags for the period are easily found).
